Home Information Packs

Since 6th April 2009, the Home Information Pack must be available from the first day of marketing.

The core elements in the HIP, required before the property can be marketted are:-

  • Index
  • Property Information Questionnaire (PIQ)
  • Sales Statement
  • EPC (or evidence of order 14 days prior to marketing)
  • Title Information Document or Index Map Search result

There are two versions of the PIQ; a general version and a version for New Homes as set out in Schedule 11 (Schedule 12 for Newbuild) of the Home Information Pack (Amendment) (No 3) Regulations 2008.

The Property Information Questionnaire now includes the required leasehold information which has been limited to information which the CLG considers a seller can provide themselves.

The form must be included in the HIP on the first day of marketing and should be the second document in the HIP.

The Sellers will need help completingthe PIQ from their local friendly conveyancer!
